Management Information Systems

Management Information System (MIS), a part of overall information system of an organization, serves as a nerve center of an organization, endowing it with the capabilities of decision making, planning, monitoring and control of business activities. MIS and other forms of information systems such as Decision Support Systems, Expert Systems and Knowledge Management Systems etc., are important technology-led resources to facilitate strategic planning, management control and operational control in organizations. It is therefore important to obtain an overview of the approaches to designing, planning, and implementing various types of information systems in business organizations, and to understand how IT can be successfully deployed in information systems planning in context of both India and World business scenario.
